Having spent years primarily concerned with words and pictures, my main passion is now video as a tool for sharing information, storytelling and educating.
I believe that, nearly a quarter of the way into the 21st century, video needs to be at the heart of all effective digital communications work and that there is no project that cannot be improved by effective use of audio-visual content.
I’ve learnt on the job through necessity over the past few years and the learning never stop. I’m constantly improving my video and audio equipment, plus my knowledge and understanding of filming, audio and editing techniques and processes.
I enjoy the challenge of planning, shooting and editing videos that effectively support campaign messaging or provide useful information to the public. I have produced videos for public and third-sector organisations that have been widely shared on social media. I also produce basic animations to exploit the medium in support of material such as report summaries.
These days, I also do it just for fun. It runs the risk of being an expensive hobby.
